5Best design for a manual juicer
By John P. Grider
I bought this juicer after trying an orangex juicer that broke on the 4th orange I put through it. My Hamilton-Beach juicer has lasted through a whole bag now, so here's the scoop:Good things:1) Rack & pinion action effectively transfers the applied force to the squeezer. There's no off-axis force so you don't have to worry about the whole darn thing tipping over when you bear down.2) Gratifyingly simple to disassemble and clean.3) The metal grate's edges are machined smooth - - no worries about getting cut (one of the problems I had with the orangex product).4) When you remove your juice glass, a drip cup swings into place to keep residual juice drippings off your countertop. That is a very user-friendly design element.5) The mechanism does a good job of extracting all of the juice.6) The resulting juice did not have any hint of strong citrus oil.Other things:For a product that bills itself as "professional grade", it seems like it could be easy to overpower & break something if you 'hang on the lever'. I would not be too overzealous about squeezing the last drops if dealing with a grapefruit or a really big orange, for fear of breaking something. But for lemons, limes, and standard size oranges it seems just fine. While the unit doesn't weigh very much, it's pretty tall -- about 20" in its fully-down, storage position -- so storage may be an issue for some.Overall:I'm glad I got this one.

4this is the one!
By U. Salli
I tried some cheaper pressure juicers like arcosteel and typhoon. Although these two got the idea, they were far away from jucing oranges (they can do lemons and limes OK). Thyphoon got some design issues though. Hamilton Beach is good for small and mid-size oranges (haven't tried large orange or grapefruit yet). It has enough power and capacity to get all the juice out. I can get one glass of juice from two oranges whereas it took three oranges with arcosteel and more with typhoon.HB has larger and stronger pressure cup that gets the job done. The strainer has little round holes all over the place so juice finds its way down. Others had fewer but larger holes which allowed the white stuff inside the orange get into the juice but also smashed the orange against nonperforated surface. HB's strainer holds the pulp stuck inside wall which can be later scraped and put bak into the juice or discarded. It is not the intention to callect pulp this way probably but I usually scrape it and put it back to the juice for extra fiber.I also noticed that juice is sweeter because there is lees skin oil. With others, there was more oil and that made the juice taste bitter. I guess it is related with the number of holes being more in HB. Therefore, there is less pressure on the skin.It is easy to clean. You need to line up the groves and edges to disasemble. Drip collection cup works like charm.Everytime I squees oranes with HB, it think about what I read once from another review "juice galore". If you tried others, you will like this one. I didn't give 5 stars because it is not perfect (1- squeezing arm stands in lower angle at the time of squeeze, not an efficient angle to use your muscles efficiently if it sit on a normal height countertop, 2- it may not have the same efficiency with larger oranges and grapefruits, and 3- it is kind of expensive but thanks to Amazon.com I got a very good deal). Hope this review helps.

5Very simple but effective
By eloso
The juicer works well and the other reviewers have got it right. I just wanted to add two observations to buyers. First, the juicer is very tall so it doesn't fit underneath you kitchen cabinets. Second, there is a limit to the size of the fruit you can juice. The only oranges I could find at first where large eating oranges and although they could be juiced not all of the orange was juiced. When I started using valencia oranges which are smaller and tangerines it completely juices the fruit.

5Sonic flag football belts are hands down the best
By Captainobvious
I purchased a 12 pack of these recently, but its not my first experience with these flag belts. I've been using these same flags/belts for about 10 years and they've held up great! The poppers still work fine and the flags are virtually indestructable. The only reason our group had to get more was that over time belts started to "walk off". Its hard to keep tabs on all of them for that period of time...As for the product though, FAR superior to the cheap velcro versions today. In fact, there isnt any velcro version that can even come close to competing with these. They may be more expensive, but they last MANY MANY times longer than the velcro units. The velcro material in other units wears of in less than a season (You'll be running and they will fall off on their own...unacceptable). These "poppers" as we call them, always stay in, make an audible sound when pulled (albeit not as loud as the advertisement may make it seem), and last forever. The durability is very impressive. If your a flag football player, or you're league is in need of flags, do yourself a favor and BUY THESE. You absolutely will not regret it.Fantastic product, and Amazon has had some great prices on them. (I think I got my Dozen pack for about $50. You cant beat the price of less than $5 per set, awesome!

1disappointed

This is actually only one flag-a-tag belt. Just as you see shown in picture. I am not sure why it says one dozen?

5Awesome for Youth Groups
By lknine23
After reading through the available reviews, I decided to order these flag football belts for my youth group. They took a bit of time to put together, but the quality is great and the youth have enjoyed using them. In fact, we've done several games of flag football and capture the flag with them. We even took them out to our youth camp for capture the flag and the youth absolutely had an incredible time! Even the adult leaders took the game way to seriously and had way too much fun - you would have thought they were one of the youth!Getting high quality recreational equipment on a budget is rather difficult for us in Hawaii because of shipping, but thanks to Amazon's Free Shipping option we were able to make this investment. I'd like to try and get a third (color) set and some back-ups, but will have to wait for now.

5Fantastic Mixer
By Jennifer
WOW! This is a real work horse of a machine. I picked mine up on eBay a few months ago and I couldn't be happier. With 800 watts of power you don't have to worry about thawing butter or handling the thickest of doughs. It includes three attachments heads (wire whisk, dough hook and beater) and they are very sturdy. The steel mixing bowl is sturdy and cleans easily. Controls are simply and it has a great safety cutoff to prevent the machine from operating when the head is tilted back.

2How Sad
By Gary B. Gilliam
We bought one of these to replace a Kenwood 7qt mixer that was worked to death, on the assumption ( as stated in one of the reviews here) that the Hamilton Beach is a re-branded UK made Kenwood. Nope. The one we received is 'made in China'. Very obvious quality drop from the old one. The Hamilton struggles with a batch of slack ciabatta dough, much less anything stiffer. The hinge on the body is so loose/sloppy that the head assembly shakes from side to side when in use, making it impossible to properly adjust the beaters/hooks. How sad.We still have the 25+year old 5qt blue and white Kenwood, works great, but he does not see much use because of the smaller capacity. We do like the big red kill switch on the front of the new Hamilton, and the added handles on the bowl are nice. Since she prefers a tilt head planetary mixer over a drop bowl type like the 7qt Kitchen-aid or smaller Hobart types, I really don't know what to do other than looking for an unused counter queen Kenwood somewhere.Update on 1/02/2012: The mixer did not survive the 2011 Holiday Baking Frenzy. After mixing just two batches of moderately stiff bread dough, the thermal overload kicked in, the mixer shut off, and has not returned after more than a day. I assume that it is dead, and a warranty claim is in order. The Kenwood survived many Holiday Baking Frenzies.

4Functional and Durable
By LC
Hamilton Beach CPM700 Commercial Stand Mixer, Silver I bought this mixer when I had a baking business making about 50 cakes plus many pounds of cookies a week. It is the 4th mixer I bought after I burned through 3 others. Most people don't need to have as large a bowl but if you do, I would recommend this one over the Kitchen Aid and definitely over the Viking I had. Most importantly it has an automatic shut off when the motor gets overheated, which the others do not. It doesn't offer a splatter shield, but it is the exact shape as the Viking so you can order one from that company and it will work fine. The warrantee is not as good as the Kitchen Aid which automatically sends you another within days, but it also is more durable if you are doing some heavy duty baking.
