Great Kettle!

I have had my kettel for years and wouldn't trade it for any other kettle. I hate to clean copper. I initially took off the laquer because I wanted to use this kettle. I onlt wash it in soap and water and it has a nice patina that is attractive. The whistle is nice and loud and the water stays warm for a long time after it boils. Its perfect for a second cup of tea without reboiling the water.

Simplex copper whistling tea kettle

We could not be happier with this product. For this price we expected a perfectly-made tea kettle, and we got it. We can hear the whistle clearly from every room in the house, and the spout pours precisely without any accidental drips. We like the way the copper color mellows over time and enjoy how beautiful the kettle looks in the kitchen. It is a sturdy handmade product that can last several lifetimes.

Three Star Kettle

I just received my kettle yesterday and definitely am not happy with it. It was well packaged but when I opened up the kettle to wash it, the inside sides of the kettle had black stuff on them and scratches. I washed it inside and out and still the black stuff is there. I guess it is corrosion? But the inside of this kettle is supposed to be tin. I proceeded to fill the kettle with reverse osmosis water, pushed the lid down flush, and boiled the water. The kettle did not whistle! It made a slight gurgling noise. For $123, this kettle is not worth it. I'm exchanging it for another, hoping that it is just this kettle. My mom has had one of these kettles in the chrome for years and her's is very well made and whistles very loudly. I will update this review if the next one is better.

Great Knife for the home cook

I finally decided to get top quality knife, to replace my Chicago Cutlery 8"chefs knife (I got tired of sharpening it every other week).It was supposed to come 5 days after it shipped, but I got it in two, it came in a nice black box, sharp and ready for work.So far I can tell you it is worth every penny, now I can do large volume of work with little effort. Chopping, dicing, slicing etc is easy due to the heftiness and sharpness of the knife. I remember watching a video on YouTube of some guy slicing a piece of paper in very thin horizontal strips with a Shun, well let me tell you that this knife can do the same with ease.The handle is very comfortable for me, I have large hands, but it fits perfectly well in them.Blade is about 2 " wide, very sharp and can cut through anything with ease, for example I was able to cut onions in almost transparently thin slices. The heftiness helps a lot with cutting and when doing big volume jobs because it saves effort pushing down with the knife.Balance is great,when I hold the knife with the pinch grip with two fingers right before the bolster it maintains perfect horizontal position. Size is also good, I didn't really expect it to have a mini-sword like look, but the definitely impresses.I find the standard block set sharpening steel to be highly inefficient, so I use Kyocera 9-Inch Ceramic Sharpener. This sharpened hones as well as sharpens the knife and keeps the edge rasor sharp.Overall great knife well made and balanced, now I regret I didn't buy this in the first place but went for cheaper brand.

Not used to this design

Great product, excellent manufacturer, top quality, good price. But, I use the mid-shank-curve type forks for most of my cooking, and this thing is not the same, its perfectly straight. Kind of awkward to hold a piece of meat with the same kind of leverage, maybe its just me, plus its "elegant" look makes it a dainty tool, and doesn't feel sturdy. If you want a BBQ/utility fork, this is NOT the one. This is a turkey carving fork.

Perfect as expected with Henckels

We purchased a 10-piece Henckels set with wooden block, swapped the block for a larger one that would accommodate a cleaver and eight steak knives, and then bought the fork. It's perfect for the set. Now all we need is the 10-inch vegie knife and 10-inch carving knife to complete our set.
