Used it for the first time - good feel - flies stable. Feels very solid. Hopefully will throw this discus far.

This is a nice discus for the price. It's solid and well finished. There aren't a lot of 1.5 k discus's available, and the options are either a center-weighted one from "First Place" @ about $45...this one with 80% steel rim weight or a *big* price jump up to more high end, 82-85% rim weighted discus's like the Hollowood or Cantabrians.I am a 110-120 foot thrower right now. I had hoped that getting a rim weighted discus would give me a few more feet but I don't see any difference between this one and the $20 less expensive "First Place" center-weighted discus. This corresponds with what my coach told me, so I'm glad I didn't drop a couple hundred bucks on a really high end discus. Twenty dollars isn't a lot and this discus is so much less expensive than any other rim weighted discus that I can't complain. When my skills improve I will probably see a difference and then it will be well worth the minor difference in money.Note that this is the 1.5 K discus, which is for masters 50-59 years old. There's also a 1.6 K for high school, a 2.0K for college and open mens and a 1.0 K for masters over 60 and women. Make sure you buy the right weight for your competition.
