4Converted from Breadman
By Ross A. Seymour
After much agonizing, we (I) chose the Zo' breadmaker. We had the Breadman for five years until it gave out a month ago. Before that I hand made bread for ten years. I bought the Breadman as present for my wife (she called it a "football present") after I just became tired of making bread. The cathartic effects of kneading bread are way overblown, in my opinion. We came to rely on the bread machine, baking at least once a week. After the Breadman died a slightly early death, we originally were going to replace it with another Breadman. But, after consideration of how much bread we make, and more important, the kind of bread we make, we decided to look at other machines.See, we bake mostly whole wheat breads and such breads are hard on a machine. That is why the two paddle set up of the Zo' was so attractive. While I know there is only one motor, I thought the two paddles could knead the tough dough better. So far (a week into it), the Zo' is working great. As noted above, we thought long and hard because of the negative comments in this section, as well as the cost, which is twice the Breadman. None of those negative comments have proven true. One cause for the bad loaves complained of may be inexperience with these machines. Even with ten years of baking, we had quite a few problems with the Breadman, mostly because of poor recipe choices and sloppiness in measuring. You see, hand bread bakers do much by feel, so amounts of liquid and flour are flexible. Not so with the bread machine. As far as recipes, go get one book: The Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cookbook by Beth Hensperger. Her recipes are nearly foolproof. My only concern about the Zo' is the set up of the pan. The Breadman has a high narrow pan, while the Zo' has lower pan, more like a traditional bread pan. While the Zo' pan makes it easier to slice the bread (a problem with larger loaves of the Breadman) the loaves can be a bit lopsided. The dough can sit to one side of pan. This is especially true of whole wheat loaves that are more stiff and less likely to "flow" to an even level in the pan. The problem can be addressed somewhat by checking the dough after the first knead and spreading it by hand in the pan.Addition: Two years later this machine still works great. We use it at least three times a week, mostly with whole wheat bread, so it has been adequately tested. The only irritation is getting the bread out. Helps to keep the paddles clean inside and out. I use a pipe cleaner to clean the inside of the paddle.Second Addition (2-09): Over four years later, it still is working great. We still use it at least three times a week. I've recently starting using the custom settings, which are much easier to use than I thought.Third Addition (8-09): This summer we needed to replace the pan. The little "C" clip that held one of the paddle stems underneath broke off. We bought a replacement pan from the manufacturer for $40 or $50. Otherwise, still going strong, being used two to four times a week. Also, solved a mystery about collapsing loaves in the summer: too much moisture. Cutting back on the water/liquid just a bit (e.g. in the summer (when it is humid) avoided the collapsing loaf problem that has always plagued us.Fourth Addition (1-12): Machine is still going strong. It has been used twice a week at least since purchase, with 80% of the breads being a whole wheat/white bread. We've gone through a couple of pans and sets of paddles. Highly recommended.

4Solid performer, but with limited flexibility
By Edward Barnett
This is my third bread machine. My first was the original Zojirushi, and the second was a Breadman. I still use both the Breadman and the Zojirushi BBCCX20. According to most baking sites I've seen, the Zo and the Breadman are the leading contenders in this category today, so here's my comparison:- The Zo is more solidly built and has a stronger motor. It can handle stiffer doughs that literally stopped the motor on my Breadman.- The Zo is much quieter than the Breadman. The pan in the Breadman clanks around in its clips and makes quite a racket during kneading.- Unfortunately, the Zo has an annoying 15-second beep to signal the right time to add nuts or fruits. As far as I can tell, there is no way to turn off this feature. For me, this is a big deal, because I used to love to set up my bread machine to make bread during the night, giving me a wonderful hot loaf of bread for breakfast. With the 15-second beeper, which sounds a lot like an alarm clock, using the Zo BBCCX20 overnight simply isn't an option. I wish there were a way to turn it off.- The double paddles on the Zo do a better job of mixing ingredients without the need for scraping down the sides of the pan.- The Breadman is a much more flexible machine. It's "Pause" button let's you add 15 minutes at any point in the cycle. Without the ability to pause, the Zo sometimes starts baking before the loaf is fully proofed. With bread, where the length of the rise depends on so many factors, having the flexibility to pause during a cycle is very valuable. You can program custom cycles on the Zo, but that's only a solution if you know in advance that your loaf is going to take some extra proofing time.- Crust control is better on the Breadman. Even set on "light" crust, the Zo tends to produce a dark crust with breads that have a lot of sugar.- The Breadman has a small bin that automatically dispenses "add ins" (fruits, nuts, etc.) at the right point in the cycle. You just load it up at the beginning of the cycle and the "trap door" releases the goodies at the right time near the end of the kneading cycle. In a nutshell: The Zo is a better built, more powerful, quieter bread machine. It's solid, reliable, and great for doughs that would stop a lesser machine. The Breadman, on the other hand, provides much greater flexibility to make changes to the cycle once you've started and to get the crust you like. It also has an automatic fruit/nut dispenser and no long, annoying beep. If Zojirushi and Breadman would combine the Zo's motor and mechanics with Breadman's control panel and programming, they'd have the perfect bread machine. As it is, you have to choose based on what's most important to you.UPDATE 02-JAN-2010I found a new bread machine that has replaced both the Zo BBCCX20 and the Breadman as my favorite machine. It's the Zojirushi "Mini" (BB-HAC10). It takes up half the counter space of the Zo BBCCX20 and makes a perfect size loaf for a small family. It still doesn't have the flexibility of the Breadman, but at least they shortened the "add ingredients" beep (which goes on for so long on the full-size Zo that I can't use it for overnight bread making). Other than the beep, the Zo Mini is the quietest bread machine I've found. I really like it. You can find a more complete review on the Zo Mini product page. Happy Baking!

5Wonderful Machine - reputation is well deserved.
By A Customer
I finally purchased this machine after trying two other models; the Breadman TR555 and 2200C. My parents have had thier Zojirushi S-15 for almost 10 years with no problems and flawless bread. Desiring to enter the bread machine market with limited funds, I decided to try the Breadman TR555. It consistently burned the bread and revealed a "tougher" center. The 2200C was the biggest disappointment of all. Seeing all of the reviews for this machine as comparable to the ZO X20, I found myself with the ONLY two loaves of bread that were simply "duds" (did not rise properly and crust settings were useless) I had ever had out of a machine. Finally, I decided that Zojirushis could simply NOT be topped. I was right. This bread machine has worked wonderfully and reminds me of my parents machine from the early 90's. Mixing is complete and the Preheat function is an absolute MUST for proper ingredient preparation and yeast activity.

I have noticed that some have been critical of the pan and it's non-stick surface. They also claim that the pan warps. Here is a little bread machine advice: follow the directions for proper care! The new pan has the same non-stick coating that was used in my parents S-15 (1993)! It has not shown one defect in more than 10 years and hundreds of loaves. Do not use metal objects in the pan. This will prevent this kind of damage. Also, the directions clearly state to let the pan cool before soaking in water... this prevents the pan from warping, and (as mentioned before) has worked on the S-10 for over a decade. The new X20's pan is the same material (metal and coating) as the old 90's ZO models. It is simply in a different shape (horizontal). There is no defect with these pans... if you care for it as directed (and it's really only common sense) it will last for years.

Go with the top of the line.... Zojirushi X20!

4Bowling shoe review
By Sandra Drnek
Like the shoe. Have bowled for 41 years and wore Linds before this purchase. Didn't know how much longer I would be bowling and didn't want to spend a lot for shoes. These are every bit as comfortable for me as the Linds. Not a stiff shoe and sliding foot easily adapted to the approach conditions. Am extremely happy with this purchase.

5Simply the BEST
By KC
Of course, all Epson stylus photo's produce great picture quality, are solidly built and have thoughtful easy setup directions. I've owned several Epson's and each generation just gets more amazing - both in easy of use and quality.

It's a 6-ink inkjet and it's an Epson stylus photo so I don't really need to go on about the print quality but the R300M has some great and outstanding additional features.

#1This printer prints with the Mac/PC on or off. You can use a USB cable to plug in your digital camera or better yet, drop in your camera's memory card in one of the front slots and view using the COLOR LCD screen! And if you activate the feature, the memory card mounts on the desktop (well at least on a Mac) so you can save from having to buy a memory card reader also!

It reads CompactFlash, Microdrive, Memory Stick, SD, MMC, SmartMedia or xD so unless you own some weird Albanian format - you are set to go.

Just plug in your memory card - use the simple navigation (two minutes to learn and very clear) to set the size you want to print and what kind of paper you are using. Then just arrow up & down to view thumbnails (with a preview window of your photograph) - once you select the photograph, it fills the 2" COLOR screen so you know exactly what you are getting. Then hit PRINT and there it is. If you have a nice digital camera and your photographs are at the highest resolution - you get a print that indistinguishable from store processed.

It prints BORDERLESS 8.5" by 11" - great quality and makes your special photographs look like art.

#2It prints on CD-R and DVD-R's. While you can certainly use Epson discs (probably a bit steeper), I did not have a lot of different types of printable media around (you get a Memorex branded freebie with the printer) but they all look fine. It depends on your needs - some look a little darker than others so you'll have to experiment a little but an incredibly easy to use feature. You simply insert a special tray - launch the Epson CD software - paste and/or type and select print. Since Epson included a Memorex CD, it's pretty obvious you can use any brand - as you might know, your choices on the CD/DVD printables are with a white background or on silver so depending on your artwork - some might look better on white - others on silver. DO NOT print on non-printable CD/DVD-R's - the ink will smear! (no, I did not have to try it to know that :-)

#3Setup is amazingly easy and you get a nice assortment of software.

#4I know some printers have special chips in the print cartridges that do not allow you to use 3rd party color cartridges - not the case with Epson - I've already seen 3rd party cartridges for the R300M so if you decide not to buy the Epson ink, you have other choices.

#5Epson has a great selection of professional paper including some that will supposedly not yellow in 25 or 100 years (you choose) so you get a lot of professional options along the way.

The ONLY ONLY tiny downside is you do not get a USB cable so you will need a "B" to "A" cable - I had an extra one but if you don't, they're about $6 and up.

Other than that tiny thing - it's perfect if you want high-end print results from a $250 printer - if you want 4x6 to 8.5x11 borderless printing along with a COLOR preview window for printing with or without the computer being on - and if you want easy CD/DVD-R printing - and it's well designed and with great step by step setup instructions - this is one great printer!

5Impressive and sleek printer
By docnyt
This is my first photo/DVD printer and will probably be the only one I will be using for a good while. The photos I've printed out so far, inluding several 8x10 enlargements, are outstanding and undistinguishable from lab prints. In fact, I think they're a lot better since I can edit them and adjust them on the PC. Printing from a PICTBridge-enabled camera isn't too shabby either, but I prefer to edit my photos first. Same thing with printing from memory cards; this is a handy feature, though since I can use the printer as a cardreader. Two little gripes - the supplied color LCD screen resolution is rather low and the B&W LCD does not illuminate, which may be a problem, as in my case, since I keep the printer in a dark corner of the desk. If you largely print photos from PC, you may want to buy the R300 instead, which doesn't have the color LCD and is 40 to 50 USD cheaper, depending on where you order it.I was actually debating whether to purchase the Epson R300m or the Canon Pixma IP600D or the HP 7960. The photo quality in the stores was almost the same. What tipped the scales in favor of Epson was the ability to print onto inkjet printable DVDs and the relatively cheaper ink cartridges. I guess now I'll never know the real difference but as long as the Epson does what it's supposed to do, and does it extremely well, who cares?UPDATE: This little gem is still going strong. No paper jams or streaks as long as you maintain the printheads properly. Photo printing is still topnotch. Text printing will never equal the crispness of a laser printer but that's not the reason I got it. I love printing my own DVDs. As for cartridges, several online stores carry cheaper versions that work just as well as originals, sometimes for 40% less.

4R300M Injet Gives Great Quality Prints!
By Lee Mellott
I purchased the R300M, installed it and spent an entire day trying to figure out why I could not get it to work. Turns out, mine had a defective memory card reader. When I called Epson support they were outstanding at taking care of the problem. I had my new printer within 2 days. The new one works like a charm. I will say that when you turn the printer on and off its slow and initially I thought something was wrong but customer service assured me this is normal.I am also glad I anted up the extra bucks so I could view the photo through a view finder at the top of the printer - this feature is worth the $.My first few photos did not come out to well. I did a printer head alignment and that took care of the problem. Also be sure to click on the correct type of paper you are using ..ie if you are using glossy or regular you click the box in the properties section when you select paper size etc. otherwise you will not get the best results. After playing with it awhile I printed some photographs and they were stunning! Though the initial cost may seem high, its frustrating to get prints from the store that are of poor quality due to lighting, camera angle etc. You will be able to control your results here and enjoy your photos right away when you print them.Another nice feature is you can print directly on a CD. My daughter is a singer so we purchased this printer to have that feature available. Though we have not used it yet, I have heard that results are very good. With the quality photos I am getting and the great customer service I received this Epson Inkjet gets high marks.

4Good product for the price
By Mcksauntees
I purchased these earrings as a first birthday gift for my daughter. We printed out the page and went to the local Fred Meyer Jewelers in the mall to see the earrings first hand before we purchased. We absolutely LOVED the earrings, however they were full price, so decided to save $80 and purchase them online. They arrived within two days of ordering, but when we opened the box, the diamonds were yellow, not clear and sparkly as pictured on the site, or at the mall. Still lovely, and a good price, but I think thast these are seconds or lower quality than the earrings one can purchase at the physical store.

4Great for little ears!
By Sarah N. Reinwalt
I purchased these earrings for my infant daughter. Since most earrings are too large in my opinion for a 3 month old's ears, this was the perfect solution. As my daughter likes to lie on me when taking a short nap, the first earrings she had poked into me and it was uncomfortable for me. These are small enough not to bother me.The prongs do cover a bit more of the diamond than is shown in the pictures, but they are still very cute. I also like the backs, as they screw on to the posts, and are nice and safe for baby's head.

5Great for Infants
By B. Butt
I purchased these earrings and can't find anything bigger to compare them to for the price. The backs stay on great and will not get caught on carpet/blankets that could catch and pull the backs off. I have bought several pairs and nothing compares. I would recommend these earrings for any young child.
