2Not Worth It
By An Educated Consumer
Disappointed with this product. Mode switches are cheap and flimsy. It's not rated for wet environments (i.e. outdoor use). This Fluke "test set" is barely different than a standard line powered slimline phone. The big deal is that it's one piece, has clip leads to connect to the phone line and a polarity LED. It costs $85. If you can deal with slight inconvenience you can buy a standard slimline phone for under $10 (right here on Amazon) and solder on test clips to the phone's input line. If you're even more technically savvy, you can solder an LED and resistor to get the polarity feature. So for about $15 you have the same diagnostic capability. I use Fluke meters all the time and the quality is generally first rate. This test set does not measure up.

4Good, functional
By Anthony Straight
It works and is handier than a phone for field work. The volume from the speaker is pretty low. If you don't need the high-z feature or selectable pulse/tone dialing, and can stand a little inconvenience in the field, an ordinary Trimline (or eq.) phone is a lot cheaper.

4It does the job
By Cliford Ehlers
I needed a test set to verify phone lines and communication communications for Fire and Security panels communications to a central station. This works great the last number redial is handy when verifying that the phone line you are on will reach the called number consistently. The bed of nails connections work well whne you cant get to a terminal to connect to.

4Similar product to FLUKE T5
By HMMWV
Seldom does a company make 2 products that do almost the exact same thing, but Fluke's low end ampclamp (the 322) is almost a duplicate of the high-end digital amp-probe (T5) Fluke T5-1000USA,Electic Tester 1000V,Continuity,. Here are the big differences. The 322 can handle BIG conductors and big currents (400A AC). The T5 maxes out somewhere around 3/0 copper wire and 100 A AC. The T5 has a bright red light to warn you when high voltages are present - the 322 warns you with an icon in the LCD display. The T5 comes in 600 and 1000 V versions, but the 322 is limited to 600 V.The 322 works like the traditional amp-clamp. The T5 is best described as an "amp-FORK" because the opening is permanent and doesn't need to be closed to make an accurate measurement. The T5 "FORK" will accept a 1/2" diameter conductor but nothing bigger. You just poke it over the wire and the AC current is measured when the wire gets to the bottom of the fork. Neither model makes DC current mesurements. Consider the 337 if you need DC current. Also look at the 333 - it is similar to the 322The T5 is smaller. about 1/2 the width. Both run for a long time on 2 AA batteries but the T5 runs twice as long. Using Lithium L91 AAs you can forget about batteries for a few years of everyday use.The T5's probes are PERMANENTLY attached to the meter so they never get "borrowed". This may seem trivial but if you work around other people probes seem to be able to walk. They stow nicely in clips built into the T5 case or you wrap them around the 322. One T5 clip even doubles as an extended probe holder on the so you can use one hand to hold the meter and probe with the same hand, keeping you even further from the live circuit. At 1000 V that's a nice feature. The probes are removable from the end of the cables on the T5 so that you can put a clip on one line instead. The 322 accepts a full range of test accessories subject to it's 1.5 Megohm input impedance which can upset thermometers, or especially high voltage probes. The T5 automatically switches AC or DC voltage depending on what it sees comming in and indicates it in the display as AC or DC. The 322 has a dial setting for AC or DC voltage and you must tell it which you want to measure. If you have a complex signal (AC+DC) ONLY the 322 can tell you about each part - the T5 will just pick one, usually the AC, unless the voltage is stable like from a battery or DC supply. Thus the T5 is somewhat ambiguous with combination DC/AC signals. These need a traditional DVM like the 179/279 series. The T5-1000 can go to 1000 volts AC / DC, but the 322 stops at 600V. The T5 measures to 1000 Ohms, the 322 stops at 400 Ohms. Both have continuity beepers. The 322 goes to .01A resolution, the T5 is .1AThose are the hard facts, here are some Personal Thoughts from using both:Neither the 322 or T5 are a replacement for the traditional bench DVM like the 179 or 279 but they can do ALOT of basic electrical measurements fast and easy. They are GREAT tools if you need to make current measurements quickly without disconnecting the conductor and also want to measure voltages and wire resistances. Input impedance of the meter is 1.5 Megohms instead of the typical 10 Megohms of a traditional DVM, so some accessories are not compatible with either of these. Both have a hold button - very helpful when you dig for a wire and once found you can't see the display - just press hold, get your meter back and read it later.I like the "fork" on the T5 - it's fast and gets into smaller spaces than a bigger clamp. If I were working on MCM series cables, the 322 would be the only choice though. I also got spoiled by the automatic DC/AC switching on the T5. Most of the time voltage measurements are not complex AC+DC and if they are you need a different meter anyways.I did alot of work on a high power 60Hz to 50Hz motor/generator set for testing foreign powered devices - I always used my T5-1000 when probing inside the motor/generator control panel live because I could clip one lead to ground and put the hot lead in the meter's extended holder then use it one handed to measure voltages with one hand behind my back. Since the generator had a DC field coil, the T5 would switch automatically when I measured the exciter DC voltage instead of the AC output which was one less switch to mess with. Setting up the generator was very simple using the T5.Summary: These two products are so close you need to evaluate the voltages, currents, and wire size you work with to pick one over the other. Beyond 100A or 1/2" diameter conductors you are automatically going to need the 322. Above 600V, The T5-1000 wins. *IF* you can use either, the T5 is a bit more convenient and fits the hand nicely. They are 2 different meters and have different personalities, but are priced close and duplicate alot of specifications making it a personal decision. I hope this info helps you pick the right one for your job. Either one is a quality product that will have a long service life. Oh yea, the T5 is spec'ed by fluke to survive a 10 foot drop - it is ruggedly built without an opening clamp mechanism.

5A plumbers review
By Ryan C.
As a plumber who encounters electricity on occasion, especially with some relaxing of the electrical code, i want a tool I can trust and I know Fluke is a trusted name. This does what I need it to not any more and not any less. with some of my ignorance in electricity, however; i was under the impression that I would be able to use the clamp around say a line to a waterheater and i would be able to tell if it was still hot but i now know you can only clamp a single positive or negative wire because both together will cancel out and read zero.

4perfect for my job
By Robert A. Ruiz
this is my second Fluke 322, my first being stolen on a job site, well thats construction. the 322 are rugged and very reliable, they are not True RMS, but for simple motor troubleshooting they are an affordable substitute. i've used the clamp on some pretty big 300 amp motors and have never had the glitch on me and have turned around and tested small voltages with no problems. its that kind of flexibilty i like about the fluke 322.

5Fluke 179 vs Fluke 87-5
By Networker
General comments:The Fluke 179 is an excellent meter and I've used it for serious electronics hobby work for a couple of years now including measuring very high AC / DC voltages and currents. It's extremely accurate, reliable, and has several functions (measurements) it can do very well. The ergonomic case design and the fact that the holster is integrated into the case design make it durable, compact, and easy to work with, this one thing is what the 179 has over the 87-5. When I first got the 179, the beeper went out, I contact Fluke, sent it back to them, they repaired it no charge and even calibrated it for free! So you have excellent support from Fluke with the lifetime warranty on this meter. Only thing is there is a few things the 179 cannot do that the more feature rich Fluke 87-5 can do, so I wish I would've spent the extra $30 and got the Fluke 87-5.Fluke 179 vs Fluke 87-5:Here are the main differences between the 2, in all other things the 2 meters are identical. Note how the 87-5 has more capability, in several cases you may need this capability, especially in the higher temp measurements, the relative (or 0 out the display) button, and the ability to measure micro-amps. These are the 3 main features I ended up needing the most on the 179 that the 87-5 has. Also there has been a few times where capturing the peak of an AC wave form (voltage or current) would've been nice to have rather than the Max function (which doesn't always capture the true peak). Fluke 87-5 vs. Fluke 179------------------------------------------------------------------------------Count 20,000 vs. 6000Basic accuracy .05% vs. .09%Capacitance 10pF vs. 1nF (1000pF)Micro Amps YES vs. NODuty Cycle YES vs. NORelative Reference Button YES vs. NOTemp Max 1994F (1090C) vs. 752F (400C)Motor Drive Measurement YES vs. NOPeak measurement function YES vs. NOConclusionAs with most other Fluke meters the 179 is an excellent meter, but just beware of it's limitations in relation to the 87-5. The 87-5 is only $30 more on Amazon here so if you think you'll need some of the added functionality, the the $30 would be well spent in my mind.

5Fluke dmm, safty test leads, and 80bk thermo probe only
By Maria King
this is an excellent buy for the meter only, there are no extra's like the combo pack one's so for a first time buy, I would recommend one of the combo packs from $240 - $270. But if you already owned a fluke dmm and needed to replace it this is the perfect purchase.

4Great meter-No case or hanging strap
By Ed
First, the bad. I find the ESFP (English, Spanish, French, Portuguese) acronym to be misleading. All this means is that the manual has ESFP instructions. Also, why is there the ability to measure Hz in the Vdc position (ha)? Lastly, Fluke should include a case and a hanging strap but they don't. Come on Fluke, what would this cost you...5 bucks (for 5 stars)? Now the good. Well made, durable...should last for many years. Super accurate...meter readings can be trusted. Ability to measure temperature...takes a while (5 minutes) to stabilize but a cool feature (ha). Ability to measure up to 100kHz...I use this feature a lot with laptops to see if the CCFL backlight inverter is working. I don't even have to make electrical contact...the leads of the 179 act as an antenna and pick up on the EMI field if the inverter is working. Note: Some CCFL data sheets I've seen spec 60kHz and most meters only go up to 50kHz, if that. Continuity test function very quick...will sense opens/shorts that are 250us or longer. Capacitance test function...no more trying to figure out the cap code.

5A fine tool
By J. Erdman
Just about as good as you as you can get for a digital multimeter. Fluke quality and durability (this unit is supplementing another Fluke 20+ year old model with a few less features), great accuracy, lifetime warranty, and easy and convenient to use (once you try out all the features a few times, everything will become easy and obvious).Of course, you may not need the accuracy that this model has, or true RMS for measuring AC, or some of the other features. If you just make an occassional voltage check, maybe a cheapy from Radio Shack will do the job. But if you make your living with electrical equipment or electronics, or you are a serious hobbyist, the features, usability, durability, and accuracy of this DMM make it worth getting. And the backlight feature has already proven itself useful, the first time I used it.

5Great general purpose meter
By David B. Bremer
While teaching a class for "first responders" who wished to enter the world of Amateur Radio, I needed a digital meter to use in my demonstrations. The acknowledged leader in digital meters is FLUKE, so why not give demonstrations with the best. This is a great general purpose meter with the added plus of being able to test capacitors as well as resistors and diodes. For all around use I found the easy to read LCD display, the ability to manually range the meter and the adjustable backlighting all very convienient. I would recomend this meter for new users as well as advanced technicians.

5Great Machine
By flyngrl
I did a lot of research and even bought another product first. The first one was more basic and did not have "you control" options-it just ran a program that I didn't like. It also rocked off the floor at higher settings. Beware and buy the best! Some have commented about the difficulty using the neck or back massager which requires your body to be elevated to match the machine. I use a firm foam step trainer. I place my upper back to hips on it and bend my knees so my feet are flat on the floor. This is very comfortable. The Evergain 308DL is the best machine. Why pay more? I also tried the one billed as the "orignal chi machine" (which costs twice as much) at a health practitioner's office and the Evergain is the same as far as smoothness of the action plus it has the foot/back massage option with far infrared and magnet technology. The extra middle notch for neck massage, along with the "neck" motion setting is unique to this machine.

5Great for relaxing
By Gail Elieson
I have frequent headaches and low back problems. The Chi Machine works great to help keep my muscles in those areas relaxed. Variable speeds are a big plus. The only problem I've had to work out is when using the neck option. Due to the depth of the machine, you need to use pillows or something to get your body the level of the massage area. Once you've done that, it's wonderful!

5Very Pleased!!

The Chi Evergain has made a remarkable difference in relieving the stiffness of my neck and shoulders. I am really impressed with the comfort of the neck cradle and can easily change the massage speed as needed. I am very pleased with the results I continually get from The Chi Evergain and have already recommended it to friends also dealing with neck and shoulder pain.

4Great Iron for Pro or Experimenter
By R. Mikkelson
My old soldering iron's tip was too large to work on the tiny SMD (Surface Mount Device) parts. I asked the foreman at an assembly house that builds 1,000s of SMD electronic card products per month, and he told me his crew really likes the Edsyn 951SX. After using it for over a year, I can see why. The tips are much narrower then my old Weller iron and lets you solder separate .025" centered SMD pins with relative ease. The .050" centered pins are a cinch. The temperature control feature is useful when doing soldering to large and small leads/lands with different solder types, but requires some experimenting to obtain the best result. Edsyn offers a wide selection of interchangeable tips for this model, that change out and heat up in short order.

5Awesome soldering station
By Terrance Parkhurst
I have been using Edsyn equipment for years. If I had a choice I would never use anything else. NASA used these in space once and maybe still does. The tips never wear out. Have only had one heater open up in all the years I have used them. Edsyn is very helpful if you phone them for advice. Parts are available for most Edsyn equipment. An Edsyn soldering station might last you for a lifetime. Maybe longer.

3I can't believe I found this again!!!!
By ~purplemoon~
We purchased the largest one 19 years ago (honest!) from LL Bean. We LOVE this barrel feeder! Over the last year or two, the wood towards the bottom is getting black and soft (from age/humidity, etc., I'm sure), so we are looking to replace it. We never use any type of trash bag liner, and yes, the crumbs accumulate at the bottom, but every once in a while we take the barrel, empty it completely, and let it air out in the sunshine on a nice day. Works like a charm! We love the fact that it sits flush against the wall. I believe if you go to that company's website directly, you have a variety of colors (wood stained) to choose from (a bit more money). We are extremely afraid of using plastic (of any type) to store our dog food (and human food!) due to the chemicals within the plastic. Contrary to what people might think, the dog food doesn't get stale in the barrel either. Highly recommend! Hopefully, if get another one, it will last another 19 years:~)EDTA ~ 01-02-12 ~ purchased this barrel for Christmas for the pups;-) ~ unfortunately, the quality is NOT the same as we raved about above (the one that was purchased 19 years ago). It is made relatively cheaply, sorry to say. The barrel does not sit flush on our floor, the lid is not flush with the barrel top either. The wood, although while it looks exactly the same, is somehow different. Thinner? Different wood? Not quite sure, but if it were metal, I would describe it as "tinny". It's lightweight. The sizing is a bit smaller as well ~ more narrow. All in all, it will do. I highly doubt this container will last as long as our first, original one:(

4Great food bin
By G. Rand
This food bin fits our kitchen decor perfectly and holds a full bag of dog food (35 lbs?).Aside from our Lab eating the dog food sign 2 days after we set it up, we have had no problems with it. I added a simple hook and eye latch to the lid to keep him from opening it. I also added a piece of corrugated plastic to use as a liner holder, to keep the bag in place. As they suggest, you definitely need to use a trash bag or other liner to pour the food into. Otherwise, you will end up with bits of food and crumbs at the bottom of the bin, that are difficult to clean. With the liner, you just pull it out and replace it when you refill the bin.A great product. I would have rated it higher if it came with a latch and a system for holding the liner in place. But, I would purchase it again.
