Great juice, horrible price

My local health food store has these for $6.89 a bottle... $6.89 x 6 is $41.34, cheaper than the $45.84 directly from the manufacturer, and that isn't even counting the insane $25 shipping cost.Now of course, my local health food store probably isn't anywhere near you, but my point is, ordering this product online seems quite pointless, especially factoring in the shipping, unless you live in the middle nowhere. Considering this is direct from the manufacturer themselves, you'd think the price would be something reasonable.As for the juice, it's quite delicious, and I try to have several glasses a week.

Delicious and healthy - a great combination

I initially bought this blueberry juice as a potential grape juice substitute. I wanted something a little less sweet and not at all like the overly concentrated grape juice sold in stores. This juice certainly lived up to my expectations. It's delicious, and I really appreciate the health benefits. The bottles all come very well packed in safe, sturdy packaging. I am very pleased with this company and product.

A bit sour but very filled with great vitamins!

Taste: A bit sour and it doesnt taste like there is any sugar whatsoever in it. Cranberries are bitter by nature. It has 8 grams of sugar per 6fl oz serving and 48 calories per serving. 3 grams Sodium 125mg Potassium 12g Carbs- 25% Vitamin C 14% Vitamin E and 4% B6. 3% B1, 2% Magnesium and Iron 1% A, Calcium,Niacin,Folate,Phosphorous,Zinc.Side Note: I am appalled at the price on Amazon! You can get the Lakewood Pure Cranberry at Publix Supermarket for about 5 dollars!! How can they charge this much for 6?? and then add 25 dollars shipping. Please people go to Publix, Harris Teeter or other higher end grocery stores to purchase this if you can. That's terrible to charge people [...] plus [...] for shipping!

L&M is quite a bit better

If you have never had pure cranberry juice, then you might find the Lakewood exceptional. However, it is not nearly as good as L&M. Compared to L&M, the Lakewood tastes sort of watery and flavorless, as if Lakewood used a lower quality of cranberry in making their juice. The L&M is alot crisper and full of good cranberry flavor. The L&M color is also nice and bright red, whereas the Lakewood is considerably more brown. As far as I know, they are about the same price.

Great product

This product worked for me where others failed. The SmokeAway kit I ordered lacked the compact disk and cost a lot more. I should have checked Amazon first, but since it REALLY WORKED I'm very happy even though I spent twice the money for less product. I took phase one for just five days, then gave the rest of the kit away to a friend. Now, four and a half months later I'm still nicotine free and the "nic fits" are less frequent and way less intense. Sometimes I go for days without even thinking about a smoke.

Is there willpower involved? You bet. This product gets you thru the first week or so, after that its up to you. You must WANT to quit. This product does what its advertised to do, however. It helps you get off nicotine in that all important first week or so. After that, you have a fighting chance to gut it out the rest of the way.

I can't believe it worked...

I'm now thirty. I started smoking when I was ten, and by fourteen I was smoking a pack a day. I'm also work in a couple highly stressful professions, meaning cigarettes were something I needed to keep me sane. I tried all sorts of nicotene-based substitutes, and they didn't work. I tried other methods to quit, and they didn't work either. After hearing about Smoke-Away on the radio, I thought "what the heck?"Being somewhat conservative, I admit I was kinda suspicious about a herbal based alternative to nicoteen, but my parents offered to pay for it and my doctor said it was safe. It worked. I quit smoking for a month, which is the longest I had ever gone without smoking. While it wasn't completely painless, and while it required some willpower, Smoke-Away made things a lot more comfortable and helped me deal with the withdrawal symptoms with more ease than I had ever felt using any other product or method.Unfortunately, I had a relapse about three weeks later, having forgotten the products at home while on a stressful business trip. By the time I got back, I was addicted again and didn't want to quit. About a month ago, I tried Smoke-Away again. It worked just as well as it did last time, and this time I make a point of double-checking whenever I go on a trip or some other stressful event that will last more than a couple hours.About a month has passed since I smoked my last cigarette, I feel much better, and I am convinced this is the best product on the market for quitting smoking. One of its key advantages, in my opinion, is the fact it doesn't use any nicoteen, so from the start your body is able to cleanse itself of the cigarette's most addictive agent.

only thing that ever worked!!

I was told I have Emphysema 4 years ago (mild) and had to quit smoking immediately. So in the last 4 years I have tried the patch (twice...first time I was on them for 2 months!) and the various gums, losengers, etc. All of them get you through the duration while you are taking the product, but when out in the world alone, I was always too easily (mentally) tempted to cheat. Cheating led to a month to six month binges and another product was tried. Smoke Away is the only thing that Detoxified me quickly and now I can be around smokers and stress in all settings and have NO DESIRE to "bum" a cigarette!! Using the product fully (phase 2 is just as important) did the trick for me. TRY IT!!!

When You Positively Absolutely Have to Protect You Computer

Bottom-Line: Final analysis: the "CS 500" does what it is supposed to do--protect my computer from harmful electrical events and provide a source of emergency power.APC targets the "Back-UPS CS 500" at home and or small office users. The "Back-UPS CS 500" is a 500VA/300W UPS designed to provide short-term emergency (battery) power to a computer, monitor, and perhaps one essential peripheral in the event of a power outage or electrical noise. According to APC product literature, the "Back-UPS CS 500" can provide up to 14 minutes at half load (150 watts), and approximately 2 minutes with a full load (300 watts). This should be enough time to enable you, or the system itself, to save your work and shutdown the attached computer in an orderly fashion.On the front of the off-white, smallish "Back-UPS CS 500", are four rectangle status lights which illuminate yellow or red when activated; they are: Online, On-Battery, Overload, and Replace Battery. Also on the front is a lone round gray switch for turning the unit on and off, as well as performing a self-test.On the back panel the "Back-UPS CS 500" is equipped with three battery-powered/surge protected outlets and three regular surge protected outlets on the back of the unit, with one of the three outlets on each side spaced to provide room for those ubiquitous transformer power blocks.The "APC Back-UPS CS 500" is equipped with a USB connection to the CS 500 to your computer in order to "speak" APC's proprietary Power Chute Personal Edition software, which is included free with the UPS. Power Chute helps to manage the functionality of the UPS and how it interacts with the computer. Power Chute displays data on the UPS, including current estimated load, current status; electric service line status information (monitors power line faults, power fluxes, and actual voltage). More importantly Power Chute can be configured to shut down your computer after a certain amount of time after the CS 500 goes on battery power.Testing and UseI have attached two "Back-UPS CS 500's" to two file servers with Pentium 4 3.06GHz processors powered by an Antec 300W power supply's, running Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition, mated with a Dell 19-inch monitor, tied together with a four-port KVM switch.After charging the battery for 12 hours, I put them in place, connected the USB's and installed the PowerChute Personal Edition software. PowerChute initially indicated that I had about 35 minutes of battery backup time on both servers but I knew that could not correct; wishful thinking on the UPS's part but not correct. So in order to get a more accurate estimate of battery backup time, I simulated a power outage by unplugging both units from the wall outlet, and let the units their thing. The "Back-UPS CS 500" can only keep the system on as long as it battery holds out, and through PowerChute it will dynamically update the estimated time remaining on the battery as it starts discharging.As soon as the "Back-UPS CS 500's" was unplugged they went to battery power and I received a popup box on my screen that stated: "your battery backup is now supplying battery power to your equipment." An (annoying but effective) audible alarm sounded and produces four beeps every 30 seconds. This alarm can be thankfully disabled via the software. After approximately 7:00 minutes, battery power had dropped to 25% and the computer went into hibernate mode. Bear in mind that the only electrical equipment I have attached to the "Back-UPS CS 500" is the computers and one shared monitor.My results were on-par with what APC has posted on their Website where they provide a runtime chart to help you decide what size UPS is best for your applications. The chart indicates that system comparable to mine with a 300W power supply should get about fourteen minutes of runtime with half a load; I think I qualify. Of course I didn't get quite that much; around ten minutes on both was the optimal.ProblemsAPC has issued a recall for the "Back-UPS CS 300 & 500," to wit:"APC Press Release: Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) maker American Power Conversion (APC) has recalled some of its Back-UPS CS systems after half a dozen of them melted. The recall potentially affects 2.1 million units sold worldwide -- about 900,000 of those are being used in the United States.Specifically, two models have been recalled: the Back-UPS CS 350 and the Back-UPS CS 500, both in 120 and 230 volt capacities. Both models were made between November, 2000 and December, 2002. If you have one of these units, check the serial numbers. Units affected by the recall include those with the following serial number ranges:' AB0048 through AB0251' BB0104 through BB0251' JB0125 through JB0251If the serial number ends in "R," it's not part of the recall, according to APC. Users whose power supplies have been recalled are encouraged to call 866.272.7359.According to APC, the problem causing this recall results in the outer case of the UPS to melt. No one has been hurt by the problem, although it has caused minor property damage in three recorded incidents."I have owned my two "Back-UPS CS 500's" for about a year I am happy to report that my UPS units are outside the recall parameters, and that I have not problems to report.ConclusionIn the final analysis my "Back-UPS CS 500" do what they are supposed to do--protect my computer from harmful electrical events and provide a stable source of emergency power. With enough power to support almost all of today's power-hungry computers, monitors and printers, "Back-UPS CS 500" is the idea solution for home and small office users.

Annoying Flaw: Alarm Cannot Be Silenced

I have owned two of these, and they basically work fine. My big complaint is that a beeping alarm sounds when your power goes out, and the alarm cannot be silenced! So when the power goes out in the middle of the night, even when your computer is not powered on, the BK500 goes beep beep beep beep beep beep... Sigh.

great value for the money

This a great value for an inexpensive UPS that does everything that the manufacture states in the advertisement. I have purchased many UPS but APC Pro always delivers where others have failed. The only con is that it takes a serial cable input to have auto shutdown.

Great idea, bad implementation

This Network Attached Storage device looks like a great idea, and it mostly does what it advertises. It does make 120GB of storage available over your network and is reasonably priced.There are some significant flaws. First, the user interface does not allow you to give someone read only access to a particular share. Buffalo could fix this simply by changing the firmware, and it really is a pretty significant oversight. The whole point of having network attached storage is to allow multiple users on a network to have different access levels to data.Also, the unit is sealed and thus does not allow the user to change the hard drive.There are other options out there. The Linksys NSLU2 will allow you to hook up USB drives to a network and does allow read only user level access. In additionl, Linksys also has the EFG120 which does the same thing, but has internal IDE hard drives which are user replaceable.

I love it - and it's very quiet

I bought both a 160 GB and a 120 GB Linkstation. Product manual was a bit too brief, but after a few quick calls to Buffalo customer support I had the 120 up and running in no time (Customer service support was fabulous - especially after hours). Unfortunately, the 160 had some type of defect. Customer support walked me through a firmware upgrade and other tweaks - but we never got the drive to a point where it was usable, so I had to return it.Also, the 120 drive was significantly quiter than the 160 drive. I don't know if this was just the luck of the draw, or if the larger drive always makes more noise. The difference was so significant that I've actually decided not to buy another 160 version.All in all, I was very impressed with Buffalo's customer support - and I love what the Linkstation does for my home network (which is a mix of Mac and PC platforms). I suspect the defective 160 drive I recieved was an exception, but I love the 120 GB drive.

Way Better than Carpal Tunnel!

I have been using pen-based input since Windows 3.11 for Pen Computing, mostly to avoid wracking my hands, wrists, and fingers with typing.I have also used a variety of the latest generation of tablets. All of them have their strong points, but what I like best about the Compaq is that it runs in silence. Except for the fan popping on every once in a while, you don't even know there's a computer behind the screen. Also, the feel of the pen on the glass is very nice; like writing with an expensive ceramic-ball pen.The image on the screen is crystal clear. Even a bifocalled old geezer like me has no trouble sitting in a chair, tablet in lap, and working the afternoon away. The battery really does last 3 and a half to 4 hours, depending on what you're doing.The machine is fast and powerful enough for most needs, but it is not a gamer. My advice is to buy as much memory as you can afford. Be aware that punctuation-intensive tasks like huge bibliographies or lengthy coding can get pretty frustrating with a pen. Doing lots of spreadsheet input can be a drag, too.For you first timers, it'll take a little practice getting used to using the pen to the best advantage, but most folks are smart enough to figure things out on their own. I find the pen relaxing to use.The 1100 will use a passive (no battery) or active (battery) pen. I find the passive pen less sensitive to my gentle touch, but less likely to glitch out. The active pen gives faster response, but it can go nutsy on me, especially when the hard to find quadruple-A battery starts to die.I suggest disabling the pen's button.It is a great machine to haul to the library, or to use in meeting, not only because it's light and easy to carry, but because there is no keyboard clatter. Be warned, it will attract attention.I have the dock, and use both an external and the attached, small, but adequate keyboard. Really though, the machine only shines when used as it's designed to be used; with a pen, as a tablet. 98% of the time I use it with no keyboard at all.I've tried a variety of cases and covers, but don't like any of them since they detract from the immediate nature of the pen interface. Plus, the 1100 is so pretty that I hate to cover it up.It's a blast - like Star Trek.It is the Etch-a-Sketch I dreamed of when I was 10 years old!

The last time I tried the tablet PC, I almost bought one. As an early adopter, I really like the idea, but I just couldn't justify the expense. I spent some time with it and it was definitely neat concept. Unfortunately, I couldn't justify the cost. Why not just scan you handwritten notes in?One year later, I have purchased one and I love it. HP makes the lightest convertible tablet pc available. The Tablet PC is now reaching critical mass for usefulness. The Tablet PC XP OS (free upgrade from Microsoft) has better handwriting recognition, and more features.The tablet PC makes a good e-book reader. You can purchase and download books from Amazon almost instantly. I was able to download several books for reading during a Thanksgiving trip. Unlike the PC version of Microsoft Reader, you can highlight and annotate with the pen.Next, a client emailed me a contract in a Word document. Using ink annotation, I "signed" it in blue ink, then printed it out to a PDF file and emailed it back to my client. I didn't print out the contract, sign it, file it, scan it, and then fax it like I usually do. I like the productivity boost.Additionally, I installed most of the tools I use on my server, and using remote desktop I'm not chained to a desk anymore if I want to compile code. I can roam around the house.This tablet also has build in wireless. You can now get free wireless access in a lot of public libraries, and you can purchase internet access at Starbucks.If you take lots of handwritten notes, the tablet PC is for you, especially in a classroom setting. However, you will definitely be answering lots of questions, as it does attract a fair amount of attention.The original Compaq TC1000 tablet was slow, sparkly, and difficult to justify. The TC1100 is much improved. The processor is fast enough to keep up with my scribbles. Applications load quickly, and the screen is sparkle free.I would highly recommend if you have the business requirement for a Tablet PC.

Pretty good

I have been using the tablet for a month or so. It is a nicelydesigned machine, both as tablet as well as standard laptop (i.e., with keyboard). Wireless and bluetooth were surprisingly easy to configure (nice to access the web through bluetooth phone while on the road).The main flaw I can find is in the keyboard -- nice but very very delicate. I am already at the third one. Have to admit that HP tech support has been *excellent* in providing quick replacements.

This juicer definitely produced the best juice. Put cool veggies and fruit in from the frig and get cool juice out, and the quality is outstanding. We have been juicing now for a month and we feel so much better. Because of the energy I get from the juice in the mornings, I was actually able to quick drinking coffee! While one of the other reviewers was correct in that this juicer does take up some counter space, the parts are definitely not made cheaply - at least on our model (the Green Star 3000). After all the junk that is being made these days, this machine is made of quality parts, and is actually a little bit heavy (but it has a nice handle).We love our machine. We love having the best possible product coming out of our machine. The only drawback, and it is a slight one, it that the machine does take a few minutes to clean, and should be cleaned immediately after use. The parts are good quality, strong and durable, but not for use in a dishwasher (according to the manuafacturer.) If it were not for this, I would have given it five stars easily.One hint: Plan you juicing ahead of time. Because the machine takes 4-5 minutes (for two people) to clean, and because of the quality of the product (the magnets and low speed and low heat which does allow the juice to remain fresh longer) we usually juice enough for two mornings at a time (for two adults). All told, between cutting up the veggies and fruit, the actual juicing, and cleaning up,it takes about 20 minutes every other day. This may seem a little long just for juicing, but for our health, it is way worth it!!

Comparing juicers --Hard working juicer but has some problems

I had my GreenStar for four years. I juiced from 8-13 juices a day and it kept running. It was much cheaper than the Norwalk juicer and probably a lot easier to clean with less steps involved in juicing, although the pulp was not as dry as it could be. I decided to try the Super Angel mainly because it was impossible to clean the Green Star. The plastic pieces are stained and it looks pretty awful (but remember 4 years of daily juicing!) since the Super Angel 3500 is made entirely of stainless steel. The Green Star is around $450 and the Super Angel is $800 so you are paying more. But here are the differences: SA much easier to put together- 3 parts vs GS at 7. SA much quieter. SA much easier to clean and sterilize (you can put stainless steel in dishwasher but not the GS with its plastic). Finally, the pulp is drier with the SA meaning you are extracting more vitamins and minerals and buying less produce. I haven't had the SA long so I don't know if it has the staying power of the GS but I'm extremely happy with the results. If you can afford it I would suggest the SA. It would probably have made up the difference in cost with the produce I was juicing fairly quickly (at 8-13 juices a day). I started juicing after I was dx with clear cell ovarian cancer. I was very serious about juicing but didn't think I would be able to consistently juice with the Norwalk (too hard & time consuming). Although I haven't used a Norwalk (I have seen videos on how to juice with it) I don't think you could get any more juice from the SA pulp and the SA is a lot cheaper than the Norwalk, which at the last time I looked into it was running around $2000..But back to the Greenstar: I have to say for the money the GS was a faithful worker but terrible to clean. Since Amazon doesn't sell the Super Angel I goggled it and order it from another site. I've ordered hundreds of items, books, gifts, etc. from Amazon and I would have liked to order the Super Angel 3500 from them but they didn't carry it.

Great Juicer, Great Price!

I'm a big fan of the Green Star 3000. It was easy to set up and use straight out of the box! The best thing about this juicer is the juice that comes out of it. It's never heated up and always tastes fresh. I used to have another juicer that I barely used because the juice coming out of it was always warm and tasted bad. With the Green Star, my juice is always the same temperature as my produce, so I know I'm getting all of the goodness my produce has to offer.
