4True to Life Fonts and Pictures
By L. Barrientos
I am absolutely pleased with my new monitor, ViewSonic VG710b, 17" LCD monitor (black), it is so remarkable!!!Nice color display, true hues! The ONLY thing I might have a -1 star (I had put 5 stars, now 4) is that the SOUND is not very very good. I also find that the buttons, the controls, are a bit complicated...Try the monitor in person at a store, play with the buttons, hear the sound and then decide. Don't take this wrong, I LOVE THE MONITOR !!! Just wish the speakers were a bit better.

5no more uniboob
By Bra collector
I really didn't want to spend 70 dollars on a minimizer bra but now I want to buy another!! I have spent a good portion of my life( and a lot of money) shopping for good support bras that I can dance, rehearse, work out in. Most of them leave marks on my skin or make me feel tense. This bra is incredible and comfortable.

5Comfort
By Wendy Lynne Minshall
I usually wear sports bras because I do not like underwire type. I bought this bra to wear because I needed more "lift" for a special dress. It not only did that, it was the most comfortable support bra I have ever worn. I am impressed! For large breasted women, this is a wonderful bra.

3Nice, but doesn't minimize that well
By bra_buyer
I actually have the Soprane minimizer, which is the earlier version of this bra (essentially the same bra, just the center front is a different material). I do like the look of this bra; it has a smooth, pretty look for a minimizer, though I don't think it actually works that well. It does minimize a bit, though partially because of how the bra distributes one, there isn't much of a difference, though I`m not sure how well it would work for larger sizes (I`m 36D). (Note that the bra is French sized, so the bra band is a lot shorter and the cups are larger/fuller than with average American bras.)

5Quality Fisheye
By J. Best
A fantastic lens! I was hesitant to move into the digital realm, because any lens wide enough to still be wide on the DX sensor can be priced in the area of thousands of dollars. As an advanced amatuer, willing to spend money, but not in a position to have an economic return on the investment, anything more expensive then a single paycheck is beyond my means. But I bit the bullet, and bought the amazing Nikon D70. Lo, and behold, Nikon actually DIDN'T disappoint its customers (like so many other companies which make promises that never come to fruition). The new line-up of DX lenses are amazing. In my opinion the sexiest of all the new DX Nikkor lenses is the 10.5mm Fisheye (not the most usefull, nor the strongest lens in the series, yet certainly the most interesting, and definitely the least expected). With its 180% field of view, and dramaticly cartoonish effect, I'm sure that many Nikon shooters, myself included will be having alot of fun, and getting alot of laughs at some of the great pictures we'll be taking with this affordable piece of glass.Highly recommended.I do feel the need to add a closing remark to this review. At the time of this writing, two other reviews preceeded my own. Both require a differing amount of disagreement. For the first gentleman who was disappointed by the large amount of pincushining, the question must be asked to him what he thought a fisheye lens was. This is NOT simply a 10.5mm lens. This is a FISHeye lens. Its SUPPOSED to have that effect. His review was negative quite obviously because he didn't know what he was buying, and giving a piece of equipment a 2/5 rating because you don't know what your buying is the height of ignorance. I would request that his review would be removed, although I'm sure it wont be, since it wasn't vulger, or offensive to anyone (its only offensive to people who are offended by ignorance, which apperently I am).And to the second gentleman, I appriciate your review, it was well thought out, and I'm in no way saying you are ignorant, although I still think your slightly missing the point of the lens. Sure, you can use Nikon Capture to reduce the fisheye effect, but I feel I must as why you would do such a thing. Granted, at that point you could use it as a standard 16mm lens (on a D series camera), but in my opinion this would be a tragedy. This is THE fisheye lens for all us DX shooters. Don't regret the fisheye, don't deny the fisheye, don't pretend it isn't a fisheye, EMBRACE the fisheye.Go out and take pictures which EMPHASIZE the fisheye. Learn how the lens works, how the distortion "feels". Take ADVANTAGE of the fisheye. If all you use this lens for is a 16mm (35mm equivalent), then your missing the most wonderfull thing about this lens.Anyone who doesn't understand the charm of the fisheye, heres a photography tip which wont cost you a cent: find a perch ten, or fifteen feet in the air, have a friend (kids are the best choice), and take a shot STRAIGHT down at them. They'll be dead center in the picture, they'll be low on distortion, and you'll have your ENTIRE backyard in the periphery of the shot.Sure, you could do that shot with a regular 16mm lens... but... what fun would that be?Just another shot of your kid.

5Look through the eyes of creativity
By Ali Pourmand
I doubt it if anyone would want to use this lens for family photos (unless you want to get a good laugh out of grandma's smile!) or weddings (pros know better) or even your average wide angle landscape. This lens is for those who see the world in a different way and would like to run with their creative shoes. Those who complain about the huge distortion from this lens should realize the sole purpose of this lens is to give you distorted images! If you want to get super wide angle, go for Nikon's 12-24 (if you have a grand to part with and a very happy marriage to ruin!) or the equally impressive and half the price 12-24 Tokina. You can even get the sigma 10-20 and be very happy. All these great lenses will give you minimum distortion and ultra-wide images. But if you invest some $600 in a fisheye like this superb Nikon glass, you should be prepared to see the world differently. Once you teach yourself how to bring the best out of this lens, there will be a whole new world for you to explore.

5Even better than I expected
By Justin
This really is a fabulous lens - I am relatively new to digital SLR photography, and have been slowly acquiring lenses over the past six months. Just added this to my camera bag, and I am impressed.First, the build quality is first-rate. The lens feels solid in the hand. This is a DX lens, so there is no aperture ring, and the result is a lens with very few moving parts and a clean, well put-together appearance. Second, the optics are very good - I don't know much about pincushioning, but I do know that the quality of the image I get is #1. I have been experimenting by taking close-ups of my dogs, and I can't get enough of the fisheye treatment. If you are looking for a second wide-angle lens, and have an eye for images that are beyond the ordinary, this lens will not disappoint.

Product Description

The world's first constant f/2.8 3.2x zoom lens developed exclusively for use with Nikon DX Format. The 3.2x zoom covers from a wide angle of 79 degrees to a narrow angle of 28 degrees 50 minutes (equivalent to 25.5mm to 85.5mm for 35mm format) and is ideal for architecture, landscape, groups shots and portraits. DX design enables a combination of wider angle-of-view with optical characteristics that are optimized for Nikon digital SLR camera sensors. Nikon DX design produces a smaller image circle (the size of the image that is projected by the lens on to the sensor) enabling smaller lens diameter, lighter weight, and optimal image quality from center-to edge-to-corner on the image.

5Why this lens. . . .
By Deborah S. Hall
Reviewers below have already described how great this lens is -- I add my voice to the choir but wanted to write here about the decision process that led to 17-55. As others have also said, choosing the camera is relatively easy but choosing the lens (or lenses) is mind boggling. I spent the better part of two weeks researching online and going to photo stores. The 17-55 was barely in my peripheral vision when I started. Of course the first thing I considered was the 18-200VR. All the reviewers like it -- Rockwell was practically orgasmic -- and softly bashed the 17-55 as a heavy, expensive and overkill for most. I looked at many options and kept coming back to the 18-200 as the best all round but something wouldn't let me pull the trigger. And it's this: I like natural light. Many of my photos are references for painting, and I do a lot of portraits and some landscape. Getting the best color, in natural light is my highest priority. In amongst the 18-200 reviews there were a few hints about it being a bit dark at the 200 end (even with VR allowing slower shutter) and about "creep" of the lens when held vertically. I liked the possibility of a one-lens for all situations but began to wonder if I would get my use out of the 200 end without flash or tripod. Came to the 17-55 and dismissed it several times until finally tried it in a photo store. In retrospect, the reviewers suggest focusing on your priorities and for me the 17-55 made the most sense. I admit that I am partial to the simple feel of the lens -- phrases like "built like a tank" carry a lot of weight with me. I'm careful but do use the stuff. I also got an 85 1.8 for portraits so for the two lenses spent double the price of the 18-200VR -- not what I had planned on. But this selection focused the dollars to the heartland priorities and perhaps eventually I will bracket these with a 12-24 (third party) and a longer Tamron. The value of SLR, it seems to me, is to choose the options that match your needs.Update, June 4 2012 First, thanks all for the comments. I'm glad this overview of the decision process was helpful. Now, about five years later, I can update and say that I love the lens -- love how fast it is, how easy to use, the quality feel of it and of course the quality of the photos. I am not a professional -- not even a very highly skilled amateur. I use the camera mostly for personal use, reference photos. But my photos of our kitchen (we just remodeled it ourselves) were high enough quality that This Old House used my photos in a feature they did on our kitchen. And the key to why the kitchen looked good in the photos is that they were all taken in just the natural light from one large east window. No tripod either.I will say that the lens is heavy and the D200 is bulky with this lens (and I sometimes add a hood). I took this camera and lens on a trip to Trinidad, and found it was a challenge to lug it all around on jaunts into the forests. I was envious of other people on the trip who had cute little cameras -- their photos seemed fine (and of course we were taking these outdoors with plenty of light). I may eventually get a little camera for trips. I felt kind of ridiculous with the big lens and the Nikon, actually. And it was not the right match for this birding trip. There were folks with huge telephotos to shoot the birds and sloths in the trees. But a fabulous wide angle was just not that much of a brilliant match for what I needed to be doing here. But very, very glad I got this lens. It is just very satisfying to use such a wonderful piece of gear. And my photos look like I know what I'm doing, even though much of the time I'm not doing a whole lot more than pointing and shooting.

5A great lens for Nikon digital SLRs
By Ben
This is a great lens for photojournalism, weddings and general photography. I've not had the opportunity to shoot landscapes with mine yet but I expect it to excel in that aspect as well. Wide open, the lens is very sharp - When opening images in Adobe photoshop, there is often no need for sharpening. The lens balances well on my Nikon D70, and is very comfortable to use - the zoom and focus rings are adquately sized and have a nice consistent resistance throughout their respective ranges. Additionally, the lens focuses very close (about a foot from the subject), allowing a lot of creative flexibility.I purchased this lens as an upgrade to the D70 kit lens (18-70 f/3.5-4.5) and can honestly say it was worth it. I shot a low light wedding (my first) with this lens and an 85 1.8 and found the 17-55 indispensible. The fast 2.8 aperture is great for low light while the 17mm end (appears similar to a 27mm on film) allows for a much wider angle than comparable 28-7x lenses. I've heard of sample variation, but have had no problems with mine. Highly recommended.

5One of the best Nikkor lenses ever built...but Pros and Cons
By RonAnnArbor
I have been using Nikon cameras for 30 years, and their digital SLR's for the past 5 or so...this is far and away one of the best Nikon lenses I have ever used - amazingly well built, excellent image quality, fast focusing, wonderful glass. The downside is primarily the price -- it's as expensive as a full camera, and the weight -- this is a two pound lens. If your budget can accomodate this lens, get it, you will be thrilled. If your budget can not, get the Tamron 17-50 which has similar image quality, weighs less than a pound, and sells for 1/3 the price of this lens. But wow...once you try this lens, you will kick yourself for getting anything lesser....Warning: filter size is 77, so most of your existing filters probably won't work, and do your self a favor and get yourself an UV filter/lens protector out of the box before you put your fingers on your 1300.00 lens.

5Works...but Too Expensive
By Fontaine
This stuff works, but is too expensive, too hard to find, and the last containers of this I purchased, the bottles leaked product when I traveled. Don't get me wrong, if you've got the money and never travel anywhere, then this is the product for you. It will make your skin radiant, your skin taut, and reduce fine (even some deep) lines.HOWEVER, the last time the bottle leaked in my luggage, I had had enough and will be looking for a homemade alternative (it's just Vitamin C after all!). You would think that paying $100 for a product and they could afford a sealed bottle, instead of just an uber-chic looking bottle. But, alas, that's the beauty industry for you!

5Best pores minimiser ever
By VickyLostInNM
I can't live without this product. I have oily skin and for years had problems finding the right products for my face. This serum is the only thing capable of reducing the appearance of my pores and controlling the oil on my t-zone. Excellent base for make-up too. Don't be fooled by the price, a bottle lasts almost 2 years, worth every penny.Stupidly, La Prairie discontinued this product without launching a substitute.
