4Good quality Product, couple of issues
By Joe
Overall, the pole portion of this flag pole is very well made. The tubing is of a reasonable thickness to withstand reasonable winds. The pulley at the top also appears to be of heavy design. The gold ball for the top of the pole did have some dents in it but they are not seen from the ground. Also, the rope was not long enough for this pole. As I was replacing a lower cost flag pole that bent in a light wind, all I did was switch the rope off my old one.

5Excellent Value
By David C. Brayton
Ordered this machine on Monday morning and it arrived Wednesday morning, just 47 hours later. Kudos to FedEx Freight! It took about an hour to set up. The only assembly required is to bolt together the base. The motor weighs about 140 lbs so you will need a friend to help lift the motor onto the base. The tables are big and sturdy. Both tables needed to be aligned to the spindle/disc, which was easy to do. The motor is more than powerful enough. One downside is that the disc sander is kinda low. Anyone that is taller than 6' will find the disc sander uncomfortably low. The table of the spindle sander is at the right height however. There are two dust collection ports, each 2" in diameter. Why they selected 2" instead of the much more popular 2 1/2" is a mystery. Dust collection is adequate.I'll update this review in six months to let everyone know about durability.22SEP2011--OK. it's been way more than six months. But this machine works fine--still humming along. The dust collection ain't very good--definitely room for improvement on the disk; the spindle collection is decent. And it's a bit difficult to change disks--another area where things could be improved. And changing spindles is a bit awkward--you need to work under the table with two wrenches. I'd change my review to four stars if I could.

4Sturdy Machine - Details Fall Short
By I. Dixon
My sander arrived in just a few days after ordering. It came in a surprisingly small box given the overall size of the equipment.Assembly was simple, but as stated in another review, the top is very heavy. After assembly I noticed that the spindle sander table was askew. It appeared that the top had been hit hard which bent the metal brackets over to one side. The box showed no signs of damage, so I can only assume it was packaged this way.At this point, I had cut the box and Styrofoam inserts into pieces to lift the top out. With the unit already assembled I decide to straighten the problem myself. I removed the table and bent the brackets back to center. This worked out fine and in the end the table was perpendicular to the spindle in all directions.I can't knock Grizzly for their customer support since I didn't bother to call them about the problem. I'm sure that they would have replaced the unit, but I'd rather not deal with shipping it back to grizzly. I am disappointed in their quality control. I'm sure that this thing came from China already bent and that's just not acceptable. Now to the performance of the machine! It's an ingenious combination of two sanding machines. It allows you to sand inside and outside curves while taking up the shop space of one machine. I was shocked at how smooth it runs. The disc and spindle run quiet and are very well balanced. The inserts around the spindle are adequate. They are plastic and sit a little low of the table. Four inserts are provided and two are for angled sanding. The dust collector shield is made from very cheap looking plastic. At a minimum they could have used a black plastic material with some texture instead of the off-white color that looks like they re-melted plastic swept off the floor. Ideally the dust collector would be constructed of sheet metal to match the rest of the machine.Ultimately, this sander is a good machine and a terrific value. I enjoy using it and I'm sure you will too.

4Great sander
By Carol A. Johnston
I have struggled with drum sanders on my drill press for years. I also own a Delta 4" belt 6" disc sander which is pretty small for many of my projects. I recently decided to build a table using zebra wood for the top and walnut for the legs. I decided on curvy legs to go with the oval top. Once they were cut out on the bandsaw I realized I needed something better to sand the legs. I found this sander on Amazon.com and decided to order it to replace my belt/disc sander. I liked the idea of having the disc sander and spindle sander on the same tool to save shop space. I ordered on Monday and it arrived by UPS freight on Wed. I also received the extra sanding sleeves and sanding discs I ordered on the same day. That evening my husband helped me assemble it and I was sanding the next day! I did have to buy some PVC fittings to get the 2" ports attached to my dust collector. The spindle sander and the disc sander both work great--so much better than the drum sanders on my drill press. The machine is quiet and sanding is smooth. The only downside to this tool is the dust collection. More dust ended up on the top of the spindle table than in the dust port. I may rig up some type of collection for the top of the table. My only other problem was getting a new sanding sleeve on the spindle, but talcum powder made the job much easier. All in all, I really like this tool. I wish I had bought it years ago.

4Compact, but HEAVY DUTY!
By Kevin Bohn ~ Shopdawg.com
This little brute is a study in functionality. In my 24+ years as a machinist and industrial maintenance technician, I had the opportunity to use several multi-thousand dollar bending brakes for fabricating brackets, parts, and the like. One thing I noticed is that most of the expensive 48 inch brakes were used to bend material that was 10 inches or less wide. The finger dies of the 10 inches on either end of the 48 inch capacity of these high dollar machines show much wear, and the middle is virtually unused. If there is so much use on a small section of the brake, why pay for the rest of it? That's where this little beauty shines. Most other small brakes are flimsey to say the least, but not so with this unit. It will tackle bending jobs that most of the competition can't make a dent in.

The only two things that keep this unit from a 5-star rating are the ecentric bushings that adjust the tips of the die fingers to the bending edge. They require a spanner type wrench (not included). In the shop of Shopdawg.com we made new bushings that use a 3/4" box wrench. Much easier to adjust. The other item is the finger dies are quite sharp on the forming edges. They have a tendancy to crease the material. A minute or two with a stone to form a small radius on the edges, and the bends are absolutely beautiful.

Overall impression--- you will be suprised at how well this unit is constructed, and how much you will use it.

5Very happy

We are very happy with this pan brake ,it sevres our needs perfectly. We need it for smalll bending applications occasionally and the fact that it takes up almost no room at all makes it even more valuable. Ihighly recommend this tool.

4Grizzly part converts DCs w/bags to pleated canister filters
By Loring Chien
This is intended to replace or upgrade Grizzly dust collectors with bag filters, but I got my canister as an upgrade for my low cost Harbor Freight 2HP Dust Collector. It fits the HF ring perfectly with no special requirements or modifications, it was easy to install (I think it would fit all 1.5 to 2 HP DCs with 20" rings). The dust beater handle works fine.I can't compare the air flow with the canister against the air flow with the original bags since I never installed them going directly to this but from all the talk I hear the pleated canister is definately better because of the ten-fold increase in surface area.On the down side,I wish they would throw some plastic bags in with the kit, I had to order some separately.I wish it would have been 1 micron cut rather than 2 micron, but it seems to work well enough and is better than the 30 micron bags that came with the HF unit.Compare to products fom Jet, Penn State industries.I ended up getting the best deal on plastic bags from Penn State,

5Very powerful motor ready to mount
By Bobby Stanley
I purchased this motor one month ago. I replaced a 1 1/2 HP motor that was on my Delta contractor saw. This motor only weighed about 7 or 8 pounds more than the original motor. It is 16 amps at 220 volts. It was almost a perfect fit on the motor mount. I was able to change out the motors in about 45 minutes. I had to also order a new pulley for the 7/8" arbor. The difference between the 1 1/2 Hp motor and this 3 HP motor is unbelievable. I don't detect any more vibration than before. I can now cut any type of wood. It now cuts plywood like butter and 2" hardwood just as easy. I have nothing but praise for this motor so far. It was hundreds of dollars cheaper than anything else I could find. The motor comes up to speed instantly as well.

5Table Saw FENCE
By Bob
Shop Fox fence was recommended by a friend. It went on my existing table saw easily, and functions extremely well. Highly recommended. Had trouble with Amazon getting the entire fence and rail to me, but they did by the third try.

4Good Fence
By R. Hageman
First saw this and didn't believe the price. Way too low, must be a mistake. I did more than a double take, musta looked about 180 times. The brand is well made, but not known to be inexpensive. I ordered it and when it arrived, it was just the fence in the box, no rails or legs. I returned it and the second shipment was right. For now, can't use the legs as my saw is on a dolly which renders the legs too short. It installed easily without any drilling on my old (1986) cast iron Alltrade 10" saw (well made back then). It adjusted easily using a caliper to square it to the slots on the table. My only complaint, all be it minor, is you can lose anything pencil sized or less into the fence by laying it on the flat or horizontal part of the fence. Very happy with it.
