5Excellent budget stereo
By Igor Grinshpan
My wife fell in love with this stereo when we saw it online. It has all the features we were looking for - plays mp3 and CD-R, has a USB port, clock, mute and pause buttons, remote control, and allows for a steering wheel interface. It has large buttons compared to most car stereos we saw which makes it easier to use while driving. It worked perfectly with a 4 GB USB flash drive, but you do have to format it to FAT32. We also like the nice blue backlighting of all the buttons. The installation was a bit of a pain because no one had a wiring harness for it with the correct plugs. The stereo comes with a harness that plugs into it with a bunch of wires sticking out. I had to get a generic harness and then connect the wires together. But it was not a big deal since all the wires are color codes and the manual tells you exactly what each color means. It works well with PAC SWI-PS just as the specifiations say.It is true what the other reviewers said about the display and the volume knob. The display is not backlit, so it is hard to see in direct sun light. The volume knob does feel like it's made out of very cheap plastic, but if you don't intend to hammer nails with it, it should be fine.I would definitely recommend this stereo for anyone who is looking for a budget stereo with lots of features.

2False advertising
By Attila
I've been using an FM transmitter in my car for the last few months and have just become fed up with the quality of sound/ frustration of finding the right station. When reading the reviews for this product, I was very excited because it sounded perfect for me: A usb port and aux, all I really wanted. Here is the problem.... The title of this product says "with usb ipod control" when in fact, the device does not work with my ipod at all unless I am using the aux port. After doing some digging, it seems that this is true for everyone. When I plug in my iPhone or iPod touch, the device continues to say "reading" but never goes out of that phase. I was pretty disappointed to hear that but figured I could live with using the aux input while I just used the usb plug to keep my devices charged. Well, here is the other big problem: the stereo doesn't even charge my i-devices. When I plug it in, my device makes that "plugged in" sound 3 or 4 times rapidly but it stops at that and the battery charge icon does not show up. I double checked my wiring to make sure everything was okay and it appeared so. It may be possible that this unit is capable of working with something like the ipod classic because it doesn't store anything other than music files but I don't own one so I'm not for certain. It's just really frustrating because the description clearly says that the device is compatible with ipods and that you could control them. The thought of being able to flip through my ipod with a remote sounds fantastic but it doesn't work that way.If anyone has a solution to this problem, I would love to hear it. Moreover, Amazon and or Dual needs to changed the description of this item or be more specific with which devices it is compatible with.I gave the player 2 stars because it was easy to set up and it sounds pretty good. If anyone doesn't care about the issues I encountered than I am sure this is a great player. I'm thinking of returning it unless I can find a solution somewhere.

4Good CD/radio but display not bright
By James M. Haugh
Purchased this unit on sale at Fry's for about $79 including installation for my wife's 2002 Civic. This relaced a four-year-old JVC player, that replaced a six-year-old factory player. Both had progessive problems that made them hard to use (they did not just stop working). We have had this unit for several months and my wife - who only uses the radio and (mostly) the CD player - considers it to be a good easy-to-operate radio/CD player. The only problem is the display which, at it's highest setting, is not bright enough to be seen during the daylight hours with sunshine. Otherwise it is a good player for the price.
