The Pure Sinewave series also incorporates microprocessor-based fully digital control, and includes PowerPanel Plus Smart Power Management software which gives the user ultimate control and flexibility of power management options. The PR1500 comes with 4 (four) 12V/7Ah batteries, which are maintenance-free and user-replaceable. It also is equipped with 2 serial communications ports that allow for the control of 2 PCs or servers.

5No power worries anymore
By Thomas A. Hettinger
When I purchased a Dell Studio XPS9100 (with some very high horsepower components) for graphics rendering and video production 8 months ago, I didn't know the difference between regular UPS units and Pure Sine Wave UPS units... until repeated power issues at my home/office kept crashing my XPS9100 but didn't seem to bother my Studio XPS8100, which was protected by a traditional CyberPower 1500 UPS. The Tech Support people at CyberPower impressed me by immediately diagnosing the problem and suggesting a solution (Pure Sine Wave UPS). The local wiring issues have still not been completely resolved, so the UPS is triggered several times almost every day... but my XPS9100 AND XPS8100 never know that there's a problem. The controls are idiot-simple and the construction is extremely heavy duty and practical (comes with handles for rack mounting). The battery is easily accessible and you can barely hear the unit when it's running. If you need top quality and dependability in a Pure Sine Wave UPS for a great price, look no farther... because, if you do, you'll end up buying the CyberPower anyway... and I was a loyal APC customer for years.

3does the job but linux software support limited
By T. B. Pringle
Bought this backup for a pair of Linux machines: a home server and workstation. So far it has kept them from failing during several power outages. You'd expect this. However, the supplied linux software appears limited. It reports some rudimentary status info and, as I understand, is supposed to initiate an automatic shutdown when the power fails. That is fine but I was expecting and was lead to believe from tech support that this device should work with the NUT project but have yet to figure out how to configure it.Also whenever it is running off the battery, it seems to make a fairly loud humming sound which hasn't really been a problem since that only happens on occasion.
