Excellent Center Speaker with Polk Rti8's

I have had a pair of Polk RTi8's for a few years and was using them without a center. I thought they sounded good as is, but dialogue was getting harder to hear during movies, especially.So following the advice of my fellow Polk People at their forum, I was advised to get the CSi5. I thought about the CSi3, but the Polkers said, "No way, do not do it." "CSi3 will sound too weak and tinny with the 8's". And then when the CSi5 went on a clearance price, I was sold.I had to do a little adjusting with the receiver, etc., but after about a week I had it all set well and the sound is far superior to before. Very clear dialogue. And adding the center cleared up the sound in the L and R's as well, so I now get more depth and assortment of the sound effects coming out of the fronts. This is a very large speaker and I had to put it on a stand in front of the TV as my DLP tv cabinet will not support a 30 pound speaker, but it has a tilt-up cabinet design for this purpose. Sounds fine under the TV.A#1 speaker. Polks are an excellent choice for their price level, you get a lot for your dollar.

This is a great center speaker with very clear vocals and presence. You should always buy the biggest center channel possible since it carries 60% or more of the movie. It will also give your dialogue more presence, overall weight and anchor the system. Timbre matched with all RTi speakers.CSi5 vs CSi3: get the CSi5 since bigger the better.CSi5 vs CSi A6: get the one that best matches your system aesthetically, they are both very similar except that the CSi A6 is newer, looks better, little bit on the warmer side and slightly maintains resolution over a greater distance. The CSi5 has a more angular cabinet while the CSi A6 is rounded. Functionally, the CSi5 can be placed upside down and with the shape of its cabinet you could tilt the speakers slightly upwards. This was a plus if you had to mount your center in a location that was a little lower than ideal. It would project the sound upwards toward the listener's ears more effectively. I got this bad boy on sale at JR for almost half off furing the fourth of july sale they had. Amazing center channel, adjustable height stand, flip it upside down even. Polk Audio knows exactly how its done my friends. Bi-amp!Simply amazing, wouldn't recommend any other brand without being under duress.Five stars!
