Solid, no-nonsense stand

I purchased this product after a long search for a stand/flat panel combination to fill a 55h x 57w inch hole in a built-in entertainment center, formally occupied by an old rear projection TV. This stand is one of the few available with the right dimensions to do this.Delivery from Amazon via the third party store was no problem. I ordered it on a Friday and it arrived the following Wednesday by truck. The box came through in good shape, shrink-wrapped to a small wooden pallet. It's really heavy, though. Get some help if you plan to move it any distance.Assembly was a little involved but straight forward if you follow the instructions carefully. The unit goes together with a clever combination of bolts, dowels, cam fasteners, and threaded rods. All you need is a screwdriver, it comes with an allen wrench and even a little tube of white glue for for the dowels. Of note, the metal fasteners are high quality, which can be an issue with some Chinese-made products. The middle glass shelf has three positions, but it would be difficult to change it once the stand is assembled. So, measure your components before assembly! The biggest challenge in assembly was aligning the large (and heavy) bottom and top wooden shelves over the multiple dowels, pins, and rods. Really a two-person job. Total assembly time (working very deliberately) was about 90 minutes.The end result is a very solid but rather utilitarian-looking stand. Fit and finish is excellent. Maybe not the best choice for a formal living room, but just fine for my finished basement. Looks great with my new 60-inch flat panel and fits the space with just enough room for good air circulation.
