5excellant but
By Robert Fortier
Having done my homework before purchasing I purchased just organizer itself. After taking the measurements of the bins themselves from the description of them on Amazons site the bins were purchased on sale at Target for $6ea reg. $7.50ea which is a fraction of the cost on the internet, and even more so when you add in shipping charges. The unit was a breeze to put together, if you can read! The bin size this unit requires is more than ample and securing to the wall is effortless with the included hardware and the construction is sturdy once secured to the wall. Definetly need a screw gun for this project, but other than that and a rubber mallet it is all you'll need. The instructions were dead on accurate so follow them to the tee and the parts are all numbered. Try to put it together without the step by step and you'll be sorry. Mine went together in approx. 1 hour and did the basement wonders.Excellant product and I found it on Amazon cheaper than anywhere else.

4tougher to assemble than an Ikea product, and much stronger
By Neurasthenic
We've been storing books and clothes and sporting equipment in large tubs in our basement, and these shelves immediately caught my eye when I saw them in a Skymall catalog. Having now installed a set and put them to use, I can offer the following comments and advice:1. Properly assembled, they are pretty strong. The entire unit is rated to 1200 pounds, which is enough for most purposes, but you're probably not going to want to load it entirely with books or fluids, as that could bring it over the limit. We have put our heaviest bins on the bottom, and I would suggest others do the same.2. Label well -- even if you use transparent boxes, it can be hard to tell where everything is from the side. We use a Brother PT-2700 Desktop Labeling System (Silver/Black), which is great.3. Though the shelves are designed to be used in tight spaces, you'll need a fair amount of space to assemble them. I think an unobstructed space 8' x 8' x 8' is probably a good idea, with a clear path to where the shelves will ultimately be installed.4. Open everything, separate, and count the parts before you start. Bin Warehouse does a good job of packing the parts in a small box, nesting tubes inside other tubes, and screws inside wall-mounting flanges, etc. Until you separate it all out, you have no way of knowing whether or not they've sent everything you need.5. The unit is intended to be bolted to a wall. If you aren't comfortable with doing this yourself, hire a handyman. I actually changed my intended installation place so that I could be working with drywall (which I can handle myself), rather than concrete blocks (beyond my experience and tools).6. Don't dream of starting work on this without power tools. You have to sink nearly 100 screws of different types through PVC pipes. Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn't do it by hand.7. Unfortunately, the screws included with the unit strip pretty easily. Make sure your screwdriver is well seated before starting, and don't use maximum torque. The assembly took me about three hours, though I did some side-projects in the middle. I can imagine somebody getting it done in an hour if they have everything planned out well before starting.Once the shelves were in place, they seem stable and our basement is easier to navigate.

5Great product
By Michael
I bought this in order to continue my quest to have the most organized basement. It took about 2 hours to put together - make sure you have a drill gun. You can not do this by hand. Good assembly directions. This product has to be wall mounted. I mounted it to my concrete wall but putting it into studs would be fine too. I have been very happy with the outcome: strong, sturdy, and great storage. I felt it was a little pricey but it does what it says.
