58X 10 Monocular works both for close-up and far-away!
By P. Kelsey
This special monocular not only works the regular long distances, but also you caan use it for close up. Some examples of this are; to use at a grocery store to both look at the prices on the shelves AND the ailse titles which are over the aisles high above in the air. Also I use this when I am at the bowling alley to read the computer monitor to see my score. A friend of mine uses this monocular when he plays golf, so he can find not only the hole, but also his ball after he hits it. And finally, if you go througgh Amazon.com, you don't have to pay MORE if you went through a specific company.

5Japanese optics, little known brand, BIG performance
By B. Wolff
I've used a fair bit of optics over the years including firearm scopes, binoculars, telescopes, and a monocular or three. (Ever see the A. Seibert "Emoskop"? check out: [...] What I didn't have, and wanted, were "surgical loupes" for close-up detail work on fine mechanisms and models, etc.; mostly due to the steep price tag. When I learned about the Specwell's close-focusing capability, I bought two monoculars to mount on a glasses frame - my own set of "loupes" for less money, AND I can change the working distance they focus at -- something most binocular, or surgical loupes can't ever do! I was so impressed with the little guys that I bought a THIRD monocular for backyard bird watching, target shooting and whatnot. Focusing at the objective end is smooth, as is adjusting for your eye. It feels sturdy in my extra-large hand, too! Looking at various objects with geometric lines (buildings, power lines), and irregular shapes (trees, landscape), I didn't see any lines bend, no shapes distort - - And for a monocular, the sense of depth is good. Light and color transmission seemed very good - not dim at all. You can use this and still wear glasses too by folding back the rubber eye guard.I'm sure there are monoculars out there with finer lenses, and if that is your particular need then so be it. Otherwise, when balancing cost with quality and, especially, overall usefulness in it's close-to-distant-focusing, I recommend the Specwell Monocular - and bought three!Brad Wolff

5CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT!
By Pamela J. Good
I've been using this device for many years now. I often wear it around my neck (comes with a string). I just have to have it that close because I use it constantly. I can use it in the store or at fast food restaurants to read the menu signs that are way above the counter. In school, I can read the board or see overheasds better. If you wear glasses, you can purchase a clip to mount right on your glasses that you can put up or down to go from far to closeup immediately. Best vision aid I've ever used.
