5Works as it should but be aware of limitations
By A photographer
I bought this to use Leica M-series lenses on my Olympus E-P1 camera. The Voigtlander adapter works as it should and is well-made and machined perfectly. What the potential buyer should be aware of is that the use of adapted lenses on the E-P1 can be a royal pain. While the lenses fit, function and focus, the image on the LCD is difficult to use for fine focusing. Holding the camera at arm's length and using the magnification to aid focus causes the LCD image to jump around like crazy. I ended up giving up the whole affair and accepted using the micro 4/3 AF lenses instead. Using the Panasonic Lumix GF1 with the EVF may work better although I've read reports that the GF1 EVF is also difficult to use with MF lenses. The best solution and use for the adapted lenses is with Panasonic Lumix cameras with built-in EVF and the Olympus E-P2, which has an accessory EVF that is reported to be outstanding. The adapter itself is excellent but my initial plans were thwarted by the limitations of the camera. I have since bought a Panasonic Lumix G1 which utilizes the adapted lenses well.

4A well made adapter.

When I started researching micro four thirds lens adapters I saw prices for what appeared to be the same mount everywhere from $25 to $200. The difference appears to be the materials used for the mounts and most often, the m 4/3 body side. Most of the expensive mounts claim steel in theirs, aluminum in the cheaper models. Aluminum can wear quicker and leave shavings inside the camera - not a good thing. I sprang for the Voigtlander and was satisfied with the precision and quality of the materials. Using a manual lens on the Olympus Pen series is, however, a pain in the butt. I bought it to test Leica lenses for flare and sharpness only, not day to day use, and even that is a pain.
