Good product but a hassle

I like the charcoal filtering of the air since you can get bad air when you travel, and the added moisturizing wick makes the air comfortable to breathe. I've never really had a problem with dry mouth, but I did 3 dives on a liveaboard last week without the filter, and then the next 14 dives with it. The dives with the filter were more pleasant. Only down side is that you have to add water after every dive (remember to purge all air first!!) and remove the moisture wick at night to let it dry so it doesn't mildew. That's a hassle. Takes a couple of wrenches to take it apart. And when it's on your 1st stage, it sticks out several inches (about as far as a hose protector normally would) so on a boat with your gear close to your neighbors you have to be careful neither of you bump it with other gear. Would I buy it again? Only if I knew I was going to make a lot of dives in a short period of time. If I was only doing 1-2 dives a day for 2-3 days I probably wouldn't bother. But on a liveaboard with 4-6 dives a day for a week, I would.

SOLVES dehydration and headaches!

I love this unit so much that I bought another one so I am not having to switch it out between my regulator rigs! I used to get dehydrated, have cotton mouth and get nasty headaches when especially on long dives, and the Apollo Bio-Filter has solved all that! If there were a spot to give a unit 10+ stars this one would get them!
