5I think I'm faithful to Aeris now
By Caia
For five years I dove with a Cobra Suunto. About 7 months ago it died on me while I was in Roatan. I'm not sure if it was my fault or simply a Cobra's lifespan. I had it serviced, the technician was sure it was just my battery. He was wrong. Oh well, time to upgrade! So I bought this baby. Took it to Belize in Septempber 2012. Took it down 15 times that trip. It's simple, slick and easy to read. Who knows what issues I may run into over time with this wireless device. But so far, I love it way more than I ever did my Cobra Suunto.Aeris computers are way less conservative. Some consider that a good thing, some not so much. It all depends on you and how cautious you want to be. I'm a super cautious diver, but my Cobra drove me crazy. This Aeris Elite is way more complementary to my diving style. My only complaint is that it was sometimes hard to program certain aspects on the device and I almost locked myself out when I couldn't toggle back from gauge mode. However, I'm pretty sure I'll get better at that with practice.
