I love how most of the reviews on this guy are from people who say, "I'll save my money for (insert whatever they think is better)". They never bought it; they never gave it a chance. I bought this toy as soon as I saw it in the store and I never regretted it.
This Prime is very poseable, has lots of action features and loads of play value. Well worth the money. If you are a parent of a TF loving child, he/she will love E-Optimus. He's even backwards compatible with the Armada Minicons. Also, now that the show has debuted on Cartoon Network, kids are sure to want him (it has revived my nephew's long waning interest in Transformers).
If you are a TF collector (like myself), the toy does look strange for a Prime. His proportions are off for what fans are used to, but that is not a big deal once you lay your hands on him. And as for the "HUR HUR, Fatimus looks like a Power Ranger Zord" comments, there have been combiner bots around since way before Power Rangers, and none of them are as cool as Energon Prime.
So, go out and get this guy.
Kids will get a kick out of the versatility of E-Prime. He's a very solid, well-designed toy that will give them hours upon hours of play.
If you are a collector, give him a try. The worst thing that could happen is that like many a discerning Transfan, you end up actually *gasp* liking him. :)

Ok first thing first I am 18 and have quite literally played with every single Optimus Prime ever designed (with the exception of Lio Convoy Beast War Japan). This is probably the most fun I've had with a Prime since RiD (robots in disguise) Prime.There are 3 versions of this particular Prime there is the version with the mouth (discontinuing collectos hint hint)there is one with a FACE PLATE, and there is a face plate with a chrome chest plate and darker colors (this is the Japanese version). People have labeled this toy Fattimus Prime and other such ridiculous names. Yes, he looks a little block in his smaller mode, but so did the original G1 Prime. He evens out size wise when the other piece (vehicles are attached)OK now for the actually review. This guy looks clean (colorful) but clean. What I mean by this is that the pieces and overall look are balanced. Nothing funny looking. As far as durability is conserned the only problem with mine is that the legs are a little wobbly when you pick it up. Otherwise it stands and poses well. As for kids As long as you don't throw it hard against a wall or drop it out a second story window. It should be ok. Some parts like the door flaps on the chest have a tendance to come off but are easily put back on.Playability with this figure is simply amazing he's got 16 different ways to set up his legs/arms which in my oppinion is some serious playability. His arms and legs move surprising well and he even stands on carpet.As far as educational purposes it influency creativity and cordonation. You can roll play just about how ever you want with that variety of vehicles.There are several figures coming out this fall that can link up with (connect) to this Optimus Prime. They are Omega Supreme (a boat and crane combo) and Wing Saber (an interesting bomber jet). Omega Supreme will cost somewhere between $50-60 and Wing Saber somewhere between $20-30. You add in these other transformers and your looking at near infinate playability.My only bad thing to say about this Transformer is the lact of creativity with the Trailer. Its a freakin Rhombus with wheels. But at least it gives you somewhere to store those vehicles while Prime is Power linked with another robot.So for $40 you can't go wrong with this Transformer. And for all of you purists and G1 fanatics I believe that this Optimus Prime is better than the 20th Anniversary/ Master Piece version. At least I can play with this! Kids will love this guy enough said. Well prospective buyers. If you have any doubts about this cool Transformer get it. The pictures of it on amazon and many other sites don't do it justice. look it up in google under images. But this guy still looks 1000 times better in person. Don't let all those that think it looks funny change your mind. This comes from 13 years experience (believe me) this Optimus Prime is one of the good ones. Oh one last thing it needs 2 AAA batteries to light up the matrix chamber in his chest. Well have fun. Be safe. And for god's sake don't point the missle launcher at your little sister.

I about fell over when my son opened this on his birthday this last saturday. This has to be one of the best toys he could have gotten. I'm an Old School Transformers fan, never really got into Energon(it's a little too Anime for my taste) but I must say, this is pretty cool. He got the Omega Supreme too and the two power link together. He's been playing with it nonstop and so has his step-dad. I still have my one true love for the Old School but this one is a Great toy for any boy. And sometimes his Mom...
