Acclaimed artist Susan Winget designed "A Christmas Story" for Portmeirion in 1995. It is the first and only depiction of the famous poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas" by Clement C. Moore on fine porcelain tableware and accessories. Each piece features a different scene and story line from this famous poem. Over the years, this delightful table service has become one of the most collectible series of holiday tableware on the market. Portmeirion will continue to expand the collection each year with the introduction of porcelain pieces reflecting more of the story line. Beautiful Dishes

My mother adds new items from this series every year as my Christmas gift. They're absolutely beautiful, the colors are just as vibrant as when we first received them 2 years ago & they're completely dishwasher safe. Everyone has complimented us on how nice they are. We actually ended up using them this entire past year when many of our other "regular" dishes broke. They all look "new" still and that's much more than just a season's worth of use.

I gave this give to a family member whose house we always visit for Christmas. It was a HUGE hit. I gave her the matching platter too. The platter and the matching dinner and dessert plates will solve my Christmas gift-giving dilemma for years to come since I will undoubtably gift them to other family & friends in the future. These are beautifully made and absolutely charming on the table. They earn their 5 stars easily.
